Lucy married at the turn of the last century, when she was fifteen and her husband was fifty. Henry Fonda stars as Col. J. C. Kincaid, crusty patriarch of a Texas family. Kincaid's weak-willed son Floyd (George Grizzard) wants to get into the old man's good graces so that he can develop the Colonel's vast land ownings. Floyd arranges a city-wide celebration lauding Kincaid as the oldest living graduate of a nearby military academy. The festivities serve only to make the already sour Kincaid even more truculent and miserable. Candice and her crew remodel homes for people. They usually start by demolishing the part of the home that will be remodeled and after construction work is over, they decorate the space. They combine sequences of the construction work with personal life activities that may involve the home owners. The series is light hearted and does not provide too many details in terms of interior design, as other shows do.
